About

Our Story

Indivisible began as a national movement to support our democracy.  It started small, as a guide for organizing on a local level, and quickly grew into a progressive grassroots movement.

Indivisible High Country started out as Indivisible Watauga.   The interest and enthusiasm for community involvement spread far beyond our county line, thus the change to Indivisible High Country.

Indivisible High Country is an all-volunteer group of members and an official group of the national Indivisible movement.  We rely on a group of volunteers working hard behind the scenes to plan events, engage in outreach, maintain our social media, represent us at events, and keep us safe.

Our teams include our Leadership Team, Outreach and Community Team, Safety Team, and Communications Team.

Indivisible High Country supports grassroots efforts across the counties of Western NC’s High Country. When individual counties or cities choose to formalize their own INDIVISIBLE local organization with a leadership team, IHC will stand alongside them—encouraging their efforts, offering resources, and providing support to help ensure success at the county and city level.
